1762, Will of Samuel Doherty, Coolnaconnaght. Parish of Kilmeen, Clonakilty, Executor Samuel Doherty could not sign having been blinded by Smallpox. Other Doherty Wills. Shinnach (Smallpox)
Looking at the wording there may have been two Samuel Dohertys
These wills were copied by Welply. They may be of the Bandon Doherty Legal and estate management family associated with Wheelers. They ended up de facto owning the Bandon (Bernard) Estate by late 19th century by mortgage. The Estate records were acquired from the family by Cork Librarian Padraig Ó Máidin (Paddy Madden) c 1970 and are now in the Cork Archives.
