The church records contain an interesting insight of genealogical, social interest giving a view on occupational status and land tenure. The large vestry book 290 pages + remains to be examined for individual entries. However it shows that the parish apart from catering for the local community also served the large local military at times garrison. Personnel from that frequently married local girls and the records are a valuable source of military history. There are reduced fees payable by the military for church services. The local landowning families played an important part in church administration.
