In so far as there is a classic West Cork Face O’Donovan Rossa has it in the 1866 photo he seems to have been a redhead with freckles.

My grandfather, Johnny Collins of Woodfield, is also in the picture. He was a pall-bearer, being one of the few people who had met O’Donavan Rossa on both of his visit back to Ireland. I think he’s in the bottom left corner of the photo, the tall man standing in front if two men in uniform.
