He was very well thought of in the army. He, having seen it used abroad, introduced hydrotherapy for use in army hospitals in US (according to his family). He is descended from James, a son of James of Moloch

John Vickery born 1716, shipwrecked 1740 off Bantry Bay, one of his sons, James Vickery of Moloch farn, then his son Samual Vickery of Skibbereen, then his son, George Vickery who moved to Kinsale as a Doctor, through to 2012 Michael Vickery of Hampshire, uk.
