Cork 1726.  Brother of The other ‘Townsend’ Freeman elected at this time was Richard’s brother, John Townsend [300] who was elected Sovereign of the borough in 1728.  Page 3 of Militia Commissions Co Cork 1727-1756 shows that Richard was appointed a Colonel of Dragoons on 11 January 1727 vice Michael Becher.
