O’Daly Bardic School 13th to 17th century, Dromnea, Kilcrohane West Cork, pupils including two sons of the King of Spain, descendants founding Daly’s Distillery, Cork. Former Irish President Cearbhall Ó Dálaigh may also be of the family.
Some archaeological work has been done on the site. Further work is due to commence in late 2016.

Hedge Schols Teachers Myross early 19th century
There is an excellent article in the 2007 Journal of the Skibbereen and District Historical Society by Diarmuid Ó Donnabháin on the Role of Hedge School Masters in the Cultural Life of Caslehaven/Myross parish, early 19th century
He is credited in the folklore od West Cork with the power of banishing rats from Myross Graveyard.
