Thanks for the excellent story on Castledonovan, I am named peter after my great grand father Peter Murphy who lived on the rock house later years known as the Holly Lodge. Accross the road from the Holly Lodge was the site of the Catholic church, This was the location of the original village of Drimoleague. The present village was developed around the location of the new mode of transportation when the railroad was built in 1860s 1880.
